To Conserve, Protect and Restore South Dakota's
Coldwater Fisheries and Their Watersheds
The Dakota Chapter of Trout Unlimited was formed in the summer of 2012 by a group of like-minded individuals with an interest in fishing in general and, more specifically, trout fishing. These individuals agreed that forming a chapter of Trout Unlimited in South Dakota would be a great way to meet others with an interest in trout fishing, share fish stories, learn from each other's experiences and, at the same time, work to protect and improve the sport of trout fishing they all enjoy.
Trout Unlimited in South Dakota has more than 200 members on its active roster. Over 40 of those members have made the ultimate commitment to conservation by choosing to become LIFE MEMBERS of Trout Unlimited. If protecting South Dakota's coldwater fisheries and their watersheds is important to you, please click on the "JOIN US" tab at the top of this page.
South Dakota doesn't always come up in conversations about great trout fishing destinations. After fishing in South Dakota, many people who have had opportunities to fish more well known trout fishing destinations find themselves surprised that our trout fishing is such a well kept secret.
